The largest growing coffee district in Hawaii is in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Kona coffee beans are the most popular and commonly used in cafes.


We have listed below our 10 favorite places to grab a Café Latte, Flat White or Long Black.

If you prefer drip coffee, you will find plenty of that around the Island too.





Kai Coffee Hawaii

There are currently two Kai Coffee Hawaii locations on Oahu as the Downtown location is permanently closed.

You will find the locations at Hyatt Regency Waikiki, The Alohilani Resort and also at the Lobby Bar at Alohilani Resort.


Owned by Sam and Natalie Suter, their goal is to source, roast, and provide the finest coffee with their exclusive signature blends, using coffee beans grown right here in Hawaii. Kai Coffee is a favorite of both locals and tourists, who line up outside their cafes each morning to get their coffee fix.

Knots Coffee Roasters


Knots Coffee Roasters are a Café and Wine Bar, located inside the lobby of the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. They have an open-air terrace seating for you to sit and enjoy your coffee and soak in the views. Knots Coffee Roasters serve locally roasted coffee, tea, food and a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails.

If you are looking for grab-&-go offerings and snacks to take to the beach, they can also help you with these.


Parking is available at the Honolulu Zoo for $1.50 per hour or there is street parking available on Kapahulu Ave.

Ars Café Gallery


Is a cute café with lots of Art on the walls in the neighborhood of Diamond Head. This café is just a short walk from Waikiki or jump on the 23 bus from Kuhio avenue and you are there in no time.

It’s only a small with limited seating inside but has great quality coffee and the Smashed Avocado on toast with poached eggs is delicious.

Honolulu Coffee


Honolulu Coffee currently have active locations on Oahu from Downtown to Waikiki, including the Honolulu Coffee Experience Center on Kalakaua Avenue. The center is a café and has an adjoining coffee museum. Our favorite is at The Westin Moana Surfrider on Kalakaua Avenue. This is a great place to grab a coffee and pastry and sit by the windows which face Kalakaua Ave and people watch. The beautifully aromatic roasted Kona Coffee beans make this a great cup of coffee.

Island Vintage

Island Vintage Coffee have 5 locations on Oahu and their Island Vintage Wine which opened in August 2019 is right next door to the Café.

The Waikiki location is the most popular with jet lagged tourists as they open at 6.30am each morning and you are guaranteed to get a coffee.

The Acai bowls and Poke are also very popular and the Coffee is excellent.

Hawaiian Aroma Caffe have 3 locations on Oahu. They are located inside the OHANA Waikiki East Hotel, The Waikiki Beachcomber and at the Ilikai Hotel.

They blend a combination of Robusta & Arabica beans and roast them locally to perfection to bring you the perfect cup of Coffee.

There are lots of choices on the Food menu and our favorites are the Acai Waffle, Salted Caramel waffle and the Tropical Bowl.

The Curb


If you are a coffee connoisseur, you are going to love The Curb in Kaimuki. The Coffee here is exceptional, with beans from local and national roasters, you will not be disappointed. They have an extensive drinks menu and choices include Hot Lattes, Iced Lattes, Cortados, Macchiato’s and their super popular Nitro Cold Brew. This Café is very popular with locals and also tourists.

Kona Coffee Purveyors

Kona Coffee Purveyors are located at the International Marketplace, Kuhio Mall Entrance. This is a great place to have Breakfast as they offer a large range of amazing pastries that are made fresh each day, along with fresh fruit and great coffee. This spot is so popular that many of the of popular pastries sell out before lunch. We suggest that you arrive early as there is always a line at opening.

ARVO


Is an Australian-style Café, located in Kaka’ako. The name Arvo comes from the Aussie slang for afternoon. Here you can order a Flat White, Caffe Latte or a Long Black. If you fancy some breakfast or lunch, look no further than the delicious Matcha Chia Pudding, the Loaded Avocado toast and the Halloumi Burger.

Hideout Coffee


Hideout Coffee is located at the Laylow Hotel in Waikiki at 2299 Kuhio Ave. To access the Coffee shop, you take the escalator up from the Kuhio street entrance. Their coffee is from Stumptown Coffee Roasters and you can pair your coffee with a delicious pastry. While you are there, make sure you look at their amazing collection of Hula Dolls behind the Reception desk.
